Two days ago, I saw a nice photo on their store wall in a studio photo counter. The photo has black &amp; with background but photo object has color. Then I want to make my son’s photo to be like it. And I’ve tried with Adobe Photoshop and I found a little trick for it.<span id="more-53"></span></p>
<p>And remember maybe this isn’t a professional trick, but I think at least you have a “dummy” trick to create the same result. OK, follow these steps:</p>
<p>1. Open your photo that you want to edit.</p>
<p><img title="Open photo" src="http://www.otakatik.com/wp-content/uploads/tiptricks/0021/open.jpg" alt="open photo" /></p>
<p>2. Double click at layer that has name <strong>Background</strong> in <strong>Layers</strong> window (if you don’t see them, please open with menu <strong>Window</strong> -&gt; <strong>Layers</strong> or you can press <strong>F7</strong> key) then <strong>Background</strong> layer will change to <strong>Layer 0</strong>.</p>
<p><img title="Double click background layer" src="http://www.otakatik.com/wp-content/uploads/tiptricks/0021/picture-1.jpg" alt="Double click background layer" /></p>
<p><img title="Become to Layer 0" src="http://www.otakatik.com/wp-content/uploads/tiptricks/0021/picture-2.jpg" alt="Become to Layer 0" /></p>
<p>3. Make selection to your object that will stay colored. To make selection you can use your favorite <strong>Lasso Tool</strong> (I am using <strong>Polygonal Lasso Tool</strong>),</p>
<p><img title="Polygonal Lasso Tool" src="http://www.otakatik.com/wp-content/uploads/tiptricks/0021/picture-3.jpg" alt="Polygonal Lasso Tool" /></p>
<p>when Lasso Tool is ready, then start your heaviest job is to select your object</p>
<p><img title="Select Object" src="http://www.otakatik.com/wp-content/uploads/tiptricks/0021/picture-4.jpg" alt="Select object" /></p>
<p>and when selection object job is enough, double click it to confirm a selection. Make sure start selection and end selection are met.</p>
<p>4. Copy you selection to a new layer by right click on selected object then click <strong>Layer via Copy</strong> menu.</p>
<p><img title="Copy to a new layer" src="http://www.otakatik.com/wp-content/uploads/tiptricks/0021/picture-5.jpg" alt="Copy to a new layer" /></p>
<p>4. You will see the new layer has added (Layer 1) in <strong>Layers</strong> window. That layer contains your selection object result.</p>
<p><img title="Selection result" src="http://www.otakatik.com/wp-content/uploads/tiptricks/0021/picture-6.jpg" alt="Selection result" /></p>
<p>5. Click Layer 0 and then click <strong>Create new fill or adjustment layer</strong> button at <strong>Layers</strong> window and choose <strong>Hue/Saturation</strong> menu.</p>
<p><img title="Hue/Saturation" src="http://www.otakatik.com/wp-content/uploads/tiptricks/0021/picture-7.jpg" alt="Hue/Saturation" /></p>
<p>6. At <strong>Hue/Saturation</strong> window slide Saturation slider to <code>-100</code> values, click <strong>OK</strong> button.</p>
<p><img title="Saturation dialog" src="http://www.otakatik.com/wp-content/uploads/tiptricks/0021/saturation_dialog.jpg" alt="Saturation dialog" /></p>
<p>7. And you’ll see a new layer (Hue/Saturation layer) at <strong>Layers</strong> window,</p>
<p><img title="Layer window" src="http://www.otakatik.com/wp-content/uploads/tiptricks/0021/picture-8.jpg" alt="Layer window" /></p>
<p>and see your photo project now….</p>
<p><img title="Result" src="http://www.otakatik.com/wp-content/uploads/tiptricks/0021/logo.jpg" alt="Result" /></p>
