Windows XP has a great appearance but unfortunately, you must pay for that. It eats your computer resources. And if your computer is a old computer, you will suffer with that. If you’re a person who likes speed and not appearance, this trick maybe can help you.
The way out is disable all display effects and animations. You can disable it through Display Properties dialog. Read the following steps:
1. To open it, just right click desktop on its empty area, click Properties menu or you can open it by Start – Control Panel and then double click Display icon inside Control Panel.
In Display Properties, click Appearance tab and then click Effects button.

2. In Effects dialog, ensure that all options are unchecked and then click OK button. Now, all effects have removed and then you will get your Windows XP be lighter.
