Remove Hide and Support from Start Menu

If you’re a Windows XP beginner user, you maybe still need Help and Support menu. Obvious, Help and Support is very useful to us. But another hand, if you’re an expert user, I think you’ll never touch it. So, if you never touch it, just remove it and make your Start menu keeps clean.

To remove it, we’ll play with registry again.

  1. Open Registry Editor by click Start -> Run, enter regedit in box and then press Enter.
    Open Registry Editor
  2. Navigate to path: HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Policices \ Explorer.
    Explorer key
  3. Find NoSMHelp value, if you don’t find it, create it. To create it, right click Explorer key (or empty space on right panel), and then click New -> DWORD value menu.
    New DWORD menu
  4. Then replace the original value with NoSMHelp value.
    NoSMHelp value
  5. Double click NoSMHelp value and replace its value data from 0 to 1.
    Change value data
  6. Close Registry Editor and restart your computer.
  7. The Help and Support menu has been disappeared.
    Result

To show it again, just change its value data to 0 or remove NoSMHelp value.
