Do you ever try to enter a mobile phone number on Excel? Usually, a mobile phone number is beginning with zero number such as 0255499512. When you enter it on Excel cell, Excel will consider it is a number entry and Excel will apply a number format automatically. Whereas, the number format isn’t allowing number that begin with zero number. Then, Excel will remove number: 0 so the entry becomes 255499512.
With that entry, your mobile phone number entries will invalid. To keep your mobile phone entries correctly, you can change its format to Text format or you can also use this trick:
1. Try to enter your phone number.

2. By default, you’ll get the result like this. (Excel will remove initial number: 0).

3. Now, try again to entry your phone number and give it an additional character. The additional character is apostrophe (‘). Put an apostrophe character as your initial character.

4. And Excel will consider it as text format and Excel won’t remove your zero number.

5. You can also change its format manually by right click a cell or range of cells and then choose Format Cells menu.

6. In Number tab, choose Text in Category list and then click OK button.

7. Then, entry your mobile phone on your cell which has changed to Text format and your mobile phone number entry will entry correctly.

Sure, you can apply this trick to another entry that need zero number as its initial entry.
